
Biography
Jane Lee is a passionate violinist, music educator, and arts administrator based in New York City. She holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance, earning her Master of Music from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Professor David Halen, Concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
As a professional violinist, Jane is the Founder and CEO of New York Chamber Collective, a live music company providing exceptional chamber music for weddings, private events, and special occasions. She is also an active violinist with Hank Lane Music, Elegant Music Group, and SPN Events, performing with small ensembles throughout New York City and beyond. Her performances have taken place at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, The Plaza Hotel, The Metropolitan Club, and The Lotos Club in New York City.
Jane maintains orchestral positions with the Holland Symphony Orchestra (MI), Peoria Symphony Orchestra (IL), Traverse City Philharmonic (MI), and The Orchestra Now (NY). She also frequently performs with the Cape Symphony (MA), New Bedford Symphony Orchestra (MA), and Windsor Symphony Orchestra (Canada), and has appeared with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra (IL), Rochester Symphony Orchestra (MI), and Akron Symphony Orchestra (OH).
Jane also has extensive experience as a pit and opera musician. While living in Oklahoma, she performed regularly with Painted Sky Opera, Oklahoma City's professional opera company, appearing in productions including Werther, Carmen, L’Orfeo, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Das Rheingold, The Magic Flute, Pagliacci, The Consul, A Painted Sky Holiday Show, and Così fan tutte. She also performed for Michael Bublé’s concert tour, “An Evening with Michael Bublé”, at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. In 2019, she received First Alternate Prize and a $500 cash award in the string division of the Oklahoma City Ladies Music Club Competition.
As an educator, Jane has taught music in New York City since 2024 at Rosalyn Yalow Charter School in the Bronx and P.S. 66 – The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Elementary School in Queens. She also maintains a private teaching studio in New York City, working with students of a wide range of ages and levels. Her students have earned top scores at NYSSMA, got admission into NYC youth orchestras and prestigious summer music programs, and received recognition in music competitions.
